Anyone can come in and produce changes. We develop your human capital strategy to produce growth in the most vital areas, using these select assessments to focus your efforts.
The Birkman Method®
One of the main tools that we use to facilitate significant and lasting change in individuals and teams is the Birkman Method®. This is the most powerful motivational assessment on the market and can accelerate the learning curve of how to truly lead and motivate your team and your company. It accurately measures the factors that predict both performance and job satisfaction. It’s also an incredible way to gain understanding of what peak performance looks like for yourself or any member of your team.
What is the Birkman Method?
The Birkman Method consists of a 298-question on-line personality assessment that takes about 45 minutes to complete. It produces a series of related reports that facilitate team building, executive coaching, leadership development, and interpersonal conflict resolution. The Birkman Method combines motivational, behavioral and interest evaluations into one single assessment, which provides a multi-dimensional and comprehensive analysis, thus reducing the need for multiple assessments. It has been translated into 11 languages in addition to English.
Identifying Motivations that Improve Performance
The Birkman Method identifies the respondent's everyday interpersonal style (usual behavior), and unlike most other popular assessments, gives unique insights into underlying motivations and needs. Stress behaviors are identified when these needs are not met. Knowing the underlying motivations and the consequences of unmet needs give us an effective way to improve workplace performance and reduce conflict.
In brief, The Birkman Method includes the five following major perspectives:
- Usual Behavior - an individual's effective behavioral style of dealing with relationships and tasks.
- Underlying Needs - an individual's expectations of how relationships and social situations should be governed.
- Stress Behaviors - the behavior observed when underlying needs are not met.
- Interests - an individual's expressed preference for job titles based on the assumption of equal economic rewards.
- Organizational Focus - the perspective in which an individual views problems and solutions relating to organizational goals.
360° Performance Evaluations Utilizing the Birkman Method
The Birkman 360°
360° multi-rater surveys are powerful tools for helping individuals improve, grow, and develop. 360°s are natural complements to data provided by The Birkman Method®. The Birkman 360° gathers information about individual performance as measured by the perspectives of self, managers, peers, subordinates, and others. The Birkman 360° focuses on nine important leadership competencies that drive work, relationships, and organizational success. The nine competencies relate to:
- Strategic thinking and long-term planning for key business and organizational outcomes.
- Engaging others efforts in support of goals and outcomes - communicating the vision, building commitment, and assigning responsibility.
- Decision making, coaching others, and effective resource management
- Understanding the organization, customers, culture, and competitive environment.
- Drive to pursue personal and professional development
The Birkman 360° uses common standards across jobs and job groups. It can be used with or without The Birkman Method® assessment data. It can be integrated with the individual’s data from the Birkman reports with his/her 360° results for additional analysis and coaching.
Strengthsfinder 2.0
Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day?
Chances are, you don't. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.
To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book spent more than five years on the bestseller lists and ignited a global conversation, while StrengthsFinder helped millions to discover their top five talents. In StrengthsFinder 2.0 Gallup unveiled the new and improved version of its popular assessment, language of 34 themes, and much more.
While Gallup doesn’t certify public consultants to deliver StrengthsFinder into a company, the goal of the creator Don Clifton was to make the information as readily available as possible to as many people as possible. Anyone can buy the book and each book comes with a code to take the assessment. The team at HCI highly recommends to everyone this landmark work be a part of your discovery of who you are, how you are gifted and then learn skills to utilize those gifts and talents you’ve been given!
